My day care story books that are not in the theme boxes. They are in those stand up dividers and sorted by subject. The yellow tags on the outside of the box tells me what is in that box. You don't see it very well, but to the left is a filing cabinet. I use that filing cabinet to store my "small theme" material or material that I'm building them information on, until I get enough to fill a theme box. On top of the book case is a divider they use in offices to sort mail and things like that.

I have one large table in my playroom. It's right off my desk so that I can use it for myself for sorting and working when I need the extra space, and the children use it for art time, manipulatives and what ever needs doing.

Construction center: It has all the tools in the tools area. It's always a popular center.

I have a fairly large space, but I still like to make things as multi-functional as I can. I have the front of my desk at an angle in my room, so that I can use the front part for a center. I have covered the front of my desk in two yards of felt and the children use it as their felt board for self-directed activities.

I have a fairly large room, so I have a climber inside and boats and such. This saves the sanity some cold winter days.

I have my reading and listening center inside my tent. It's used lots and the kids love it.

In this picture the kids are using the top of the sand and water table for the writing center, using the magna doodles, but most of the time they use the big multi-purpose table.

Another part of my writing center is the magnetic "gate". As you can see I have a gate separating the two different parts of my room, and one side of the gate is painted with magnetic paint and the children use the foam letters backed with magnets to spell words... although sometimes they just play with the letters too .

One center is of my alphabet clothesline. The kids love this one. They learn to recognize their alphabet and also use fine motor control doing it.

The second center picture one is of my children playing in the sand and water table. I rarely use this table for sand or water, I prefer to use things that are less messym such as cutting shredded paper with scissors. Again, another form of fine motor control activity.

This is a picture of the song and pattern pieces I sent today. My kids loved this and played it over and over. What I did was I gave each child pattern pieces and when we sang the song, they placed the pattern on the felt board. After the first couple of times, they would take this out and do it all on their own.
